Internet Startup BringShare Secures Liaw as Chief Technology Officer

10.03.2011– Columbus, Ohio (Oct. 3, 2011)—BringShare, the Columbus, Ohio-based start-up that launched its online tool of the same name last month at DEMO in Silicon Valley, announced today that it has hired Mac Liaw as its Chief Technology Officer to direct the strategic design, management, and implementation of the product’s technology infrastructure. The announcement was made by Justin Spring, co-founder of BringShare.

“Mac is empowered to build a team that is focused on developing tools that benefit our clients by helping them better understand their marketing metrics and how to best leverage their online marketing efforts,” said Spring. “His insight and experience will allow us to accelerate BringShare’s growth, anticipate client needs and develop new features that will help our clients make informed marketing decisions.”

Liaw, who became known throughout the technology community when he entered The Ohio State University’s Masters Program in Computer Science at age 15, brings more than 20 years of professional experience as a master programmer and technical strategist to internet-based companies.

Liaw has significant experience in successfully leading the technical side of growing startups. Prior to joining BringShare, Liaw served as CTO for GoAntiques Network Inc., an online retailer of antiques, collectibles, and estate items. He continued as CTO for WorthPoint when it acquired GoAntiques in 2008. Liaw will step down from that role to focus solely on BringShare.

Additionally, Liaw has numerous accomplishments throughout his career including serving as a member of the renowned CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research) development team that established HTTP and HTML, and he is still active in the development of the Linux Kernel, and the development of the Groovy and Haskell programming languages.
